Move over, guitar hero....ROBOT GUITARS are here!

Gibson has come up with a guitar that does the thinking for you. Sort of. Check it out (it's beautiful to boot, as any good Gibson should be)...
Gibson Guitar, Yorkville Sound, and Rik Emmett are partnering to bring the world’s first guitar with robotic technology, the Gibson Robot Guitar, to life on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at 7PM at Gibson Guitar Artist Showroom, 1205 King St., West, Toronto.

True to the spirit of innovation, Gibson Guitar is set to make musical history with the invention of the world’s first guitar with robotic technology.

Rik Emmett has his fair share of gold and platinum hanging on the wall after surviving three decades in the music biz. Awards like Best Guitarist at the '81 Junos, induction into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame in '93, and Best Smooth Jazz Guitarist in 2005 highlight an ever- evolving career. There's a true singer/songwriter at the heart of it all - a multi-dimensional artist, with nothing to prove except the dignity and maturity of his continuing commitment to great music.

The public and press are invited to attend this sneak peak and exclusive event hosted by Rik Emmett who will demonstrate and perform with the world’s 1st run limited edition version of the Gibson Les Paul Robot Guitar. A question and answer session will follow.

The Gibson Robot Guitar goes on sale at 5pm on Friday, December 7, 2007 with a very limited number of guitars at each of the participating dealers. To find the list of exclusive Robot Guitar dealers go to www.gibson.com/robotguitar.

Yorkville Sound will take reservations for the Gibson Robot Guitar during the special event. Once the limited supply is sold out, Gibson Guitar will not reproduce. Only ten robotic guitars per store are available.

For more information on this special event go to www.gibson.com or contact Yorkville Sound.
