House of Blues welcomes Damien Rice

AN EVENING WITH
DAMIEN RICE

TUESDAY, APRIL 24TH
THE CENTRE IN VANCOUVER FOR PREFORMING ARTS
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 7:00 PM SHOW 8:00 PM
**RESERVED SEATING**

Damien Rice's 2001 debut 0 surprised everyone with the strength of the Irish
musician's songwriting and singing talent. The largely acoustic,
ballad-driven, lushly poetic record swiftly established Damien as a performer
to watch-it reached #3 in Ireland, #8 in the U.K. (where it was certified
platinum and won the Shortlist Music Prize in 2003), and went gold in the
U.S. Damien's 2006 follow-up 9 has repeated that first record's success both
critically and commercially. A more ambitious, intense and confident disc, it
reached the top of the Irish charts, #4 in the U.K. and #22 in the U.S.

Damien's music has been featured on TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy and the
movie Closer, and he is known to donate his time and music to several
humanitarian causes. Live, his performances achieve a rare, unforced and
unpretentious intimacy.

Feist coming to town

FEIST
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

WEDNESDAY MAY 16TH
ORPHEUM THEATRE
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 8:00 PM SHOW 9:00 PM

Leslie Feist's album Let it Die couldn't have been more inappropriately
named. After all, this is a record that, since it's 2004 release, just won't
die-from its modest beginnings the disc's popularity has snowballed, to the
point where Feist is a bona fide star. It couldn't have happened to a more
worthy artist, either, because, like other organic successes-Norah Jones
comes to mind-she did it not with excessive hype but on the strength of
immaculate pop songs like "Mushaboom" and slow-burners such as "One Evening".

The Canadian singer, who has recorded and performed with Peaches and Broken
Social Scene, is finally coming out with a disc of brand new material.
Following her successful album of remixes Open Season, Feist will release The
Reminder May 1. This may be another inappropriately named disc-after all,
anyone who has heard Let it Die or seen this engaging performer at any of her
numerous club, theatre or festival gigs hardly needs reminding of her talent.

Don't miss Feist with special guests on May 16th at the Orpheum Theatre.

Brand new shows from House of Blues!

FALL OUT BOY
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS +44, THE ACADEMY IS..., PAUL WALL
and COBRA STARSHIP

SUNDAY, MAY 6TH
PACIFIC COLISEUM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 5:00 PM SHOW 6:00 PM
**GENERAL ADMISSION FLOOR/RESERVED STANDS**

While walking across the stage to receive the MTV2 Award for "Sugar,
We're Going Down," the only thing on Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete
Wentz's mind was "please don't drop an f-bomb." Shortly thereafter the band,
originally from suburban Chicago, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best
New Artist. But the accolades didn't stop there. Fall Out Boy won 3 Teen
Choice Awards, and the video for "Dance, Dance" won the MTV Video Music
Awards for Viewer's Choice, and was nominated for Best Group Video.
The success of their mega hit album From Under the Cork Tree hasn't been
taken for granted. Instead of resting on their laurels, Fall Out Boy has
opted to go immediately back to work in spite of a hectic tour schedule by
releasing their next album, Infinity on High. "If you have the songs there,
why not record them?" says Wentz. The group's prolific nature can best be
summed by says Patrick Vaughn Stump, lead singer and guitarist, who
enthusiastically proclaimed, "fuck down time," when asked if he'd like a
break from the busy schedule. The first single from Infinity On High, "This
Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" is a tongue-in-cheek look at "the way we
are so addicted and obsessed with new arts, cultures and loves" Wentz says.
This album is a departure from the band's previous work, marking Cork
Tree producer Neal Avron's return along with smash hit making R&B producer
Babyface for the first time. "We love his approach to melody," Wentz says on
working with Babyface. "Patrick will sing with a greater range and more soul
in our new songs and we wanted to find someone to drive that."
For all their success, the band members have stayed true to their roots;
not in the sense that they haven't changed, but in the sense that they're
making music they love to hear and aren't changing to appease the tides of
trend. Fame has never been the driving force behind the music for the band,
and all the recent success hasn't quite sunk in yet. "I don't think of music
as a career," Wentz says, "until certain things jar it for you."
+44 features members of Blink 182, The Casualties and The Nervous
Return. The band was formed in 2005 and released their debut album, When Your
Heart Stops Beating in September 2006. +44's first ever gig was a sold-out
show on Spetmeber 7th, 2006 at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angles, which was
quite a feat considering only one song from the unreleased album had been
released. +44's When Your Heart Stops Beating was ranked number 2 in Maxim
Magazine's top 10 music for 2006.
Don't miss this great lineup with Fall Out Boy, +44, The Academy Is...
,Paul Wall and Cobra Starship at the Pacific Coliseum on May 6th!

JOHN MAYER
WITH SPECIAL GUEST KATHLEEN EDWARDS

TUESDAY MAY 1ST
PACIFIC COLISEUM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 6:30 PM SHOW 7:30 PM
**RESERVED SEATING **

Continuum, John Mayer's latest album, caught many critics and casual
listeners by surprise. Combining his signature pop sound with the feel,
sound, groove, and sensibilities of the blues, the disc marks a change in
direction from Mayer, whose popularity arose from two previous studio albums
of sensitive, meticulous singer-songwriter pop. But Continuum has met with
widespread acceptance, taking home a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. The
disc's first single, "Waiting on the World to Change," was the third most
downloaded song on iTunes its week of release and debuted at #25 on
Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

His 2001 record Room for Squares introduced the Connecticut-raised musician
to the public. The disc spawned several radio hits, including "No Such
Thing", "Your Body is a Wonderland", and "Why Georgia" and, in 2003, he won
the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The follow-up album Heavier
Things featured the single "Daughters", which yielded him yet another Grammy
Award for Song of the Year in 2005. He also won Best Male Pop Vocal
Performance. John has collaborated with hip-hop acts Kanye West and Common,
as well as blues musicians Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Eric Clapton. Touring
partners include jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and Sheryl Crow. While
maintaining a reputation as a sensitive, meticulous singer-songwriter, Mayer
has also gained distinction as a guitarist--a talent that is especially
highlighted live, in the interplay between himself and his John Mayer Trio
cohorts, bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan.

Don't miss John Mayer with special guest Kathleen Edwards on May 1st at the
Pacific Coliseum.

JARVIS COCKER

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

TUESDAY, MAY 1ST
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 8:00 PM SHOW 9:30 PM

As frontman for Pulp, Jarvis Cocker made some of the most sophisticated,
cheeky, and catchy pop to come out of Britain in the last 15 years. From the
band's 1982 debut mini-album It 'til its unofficial swan song We Love Life in
2001, the Sheffield act captured the hearts and minds of Britpop lovers at
home and abroad. The song "Common People" (later covered by William Shatner!)
and the 1995 Mercury Prize-winning record Different Class placed the band in
the upper echelons of British pop bands of the '90s.

Through it all, Jarvis has maintained a reputation as one of the world's most
quotable, enigmatic, and fascinating pop stars. His long-awaited solo album,
simply called Jarvis, was released last year and rose to #37 in the U.K.
charts. Says Amazon.com in its review of the album, "Cocker is a great
writer, and possesses the ability to make the listener laugh and cry,
sometimes at the same time... best of all, the quality of his lyrics is often
matched by the strength of the tunes. This is a superb album, one that should
be listened to for generations to come."

Don't miss Jarvis Cocker with special guests on Tuesday, May 1st at The
Commodore Ballroom.

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS THE CINEMATICS and SOMEONE STILL LOVES YOU, BORIS YELTSIN

FRIDAY, APRIL 20TH
RICHARD'S ON RICHARDS
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 7:00 PM SHOW 7:30 PM

Creatively ambitious from the outset, Mute Math dove headfirst into exploring
a new definition on how a rock band should sound and perform. Using homemade
instruments and live sampling, the New Orleans band is innovative, soaring,
and atmospheric, and builds a captivating soundscape of experimental rock
drenched in irresistible hooks.

The group's creativity carries over into self-promotion as well, with ideas
like chronicling its shows on a video blog helping to spread Mute Math's
fanbase worldwide. Through word of mouth, the quartet was soon selling out
shows in L.A., New York, and Nashville, among other cities. Last year, the
band appeared on the covers of Billboard and Pollstar, was featured in
Alternative Press and Paste, and became one of 32 finalists in Spin.com's
Artist of the Year contest. As well, Mute Math played Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo,
the Van's Warped Tour and CMJ. Warner Bros. re-released MM's self-titled
debut full-length, which debuted at #17 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

PERRY FARRELL HAS A NEW PROJECT!

Okay this is a huge post but... cool!

PERRY FARRELL
ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING NEW MUSICAL PROJECT
SATELLITE PARTY

Concept Album Features a Wildly Diverse Group of Artists, Including The
Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea and John Frusciante, New Order/ Joy Division
Bassist Peter Hook, Thievery Corporation, Black Eyed Pea's Fergie,
Hybrid, Film Composer Harry Gregson-Williams, as well as an Unreleased
Jim Morrison Vocal Track

Debut Album Ultra Payloaded to hit Stores on May 15th 2007

Los Angeles, CA - Alternative rock originator and one of music's most
influential figures, Perry Farrell, has announced that on May 15, 2007
he will hit the airwaves with his most anticipated creation to date:
Satellite Party. His new group is a bold and ambitious project that
finds the founder of Lollapalooza in his first post-Jane's Addiction
recording effort, creating an innovative conceptual album entitled Ultra
Payloaded [SONY BMG MUSIC (CANADA) INC.Columbia Records.] The idea
behind Satellite Party was born out of Farrell's passionate belief that
one step at a time people can change the world, and with this endeavor,
he is launching a musical movement to do just that. Weaving together an
array of genres with Farrell's modernist thinking, the music of
Satellite Party tells a story through a collaborative brain trust of
artists, musicians and environmentalists called The Solutionists, who
seek to redesign and come up with solutions for the world.

Blending sounds as varied as rock, electro, urban beats and symphony,
Farrell enlisted guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt with new musicians
Kevin Figueiredo on drums, Etty Lau Farrell on background vocals and
Carl Restivo on bass. The album, produced by Farrell, co-produded by
Nuno Bettencourt and executive produced by Steve Lillywhite, features a
host of guests participating in the recording, including The Red Hot
Chili Peppers Flea and John Frusciante, UK production duo/beat-makers
Hybrid, New Order/ Joy Division bassist Peter Hook, down tempo pioneers
Thievery Corporation, Porno for Pyros' guitarist Peter DiStefano, Black
Eyed Pea's Fergie, film composer Harry Gregson-Williams (Chronicles of
Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven), and a 30-piece orchestra.

One of the album's highlights features an unreleased Jim Morrison vocal
track, the first unheard Morrison performance in almost 30 years.
Entitled "Woman In The Window," Morrison sings against a backdrop of
Farrell's music, "Just try and stop us, we're going to love" before the
song culminates with an elegant piano outro. Farrell calls the track the
mantra of The Solutionists. Other tracks include the "Wish Upon A Dog
Star," which is also the album's first single, "Kinky," and "Celebrate,"
a Sly Stone-like groove marrying calypso and disco. Farrell also shows
his softer side on the tender "Awesome," written about seeing the world
from the heavens, which marries David Bowie-esque vocals with the
understated beauty of Nick Drake.

After assembling what would become one of the greatest rock bands of all
time, Jane's Addiction, in the early 80's, Perry Farrell has continued
to be one of music's cultural leaders and most important figureheads.
Farrell and Jane's Addiction revolutionized the rock scene, and from
there Farrell went on to conceive Lollapalooza, the seminal music
festival that encapsulated youth culture and launched the traveling
concert experience touring industry in the US. With a successful
transformation from a "touring rock show" to a "destination festival" in
2005, Lollapalooza gave Chicago in 2006 its largest party in the city's
history with 180,000 people attending over a three day weekend. Now
Farrell is preparing to do it all again with his landmark Satellite
Party project.

Three years in the making, Ultra Payloaded is an album that will further
cement Farrell's status as one of world's true artistic visionaries. In
continuing to look at ways to marry his love for music and drive to
inspire change, the project marks a new chapter in his recording career.
More than just an album, Ultra Payloaded is a wake-up call that is
imbued with the same passion and idealism with which Farrell has lived
his life-- from working to better the environment when he took his
proceeds from Lollapalooza to work with the Costa Rican government to
help preserve the rainforest, to human rights when he raised a
substantial amount of money for the relief fund and the rescuing of
slaves in Sudan. Perry Farrell and Satellite Party are currently working
closely with Stop Global Warming (www.stopglobalwarming.com) and Global
Cool (www.global-cool.com) to cool off the planet Yet, while there is a
story within Satellite Party, it is still an album first and foremost,
and it's a record that finds Farrell in prime form.

Satellite Party made their debut live appearance in Aspen, Colorado on
January 25th as part of the 2007 ESPN Winter X-Games. Additional tour
and exclusive live dates to be announced shortly. Please stay tuned to
www.satelliteparty.com

CFOX'S ROCKED THURSDAYS PRESENTS
PRIESTESS
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

THURSDAY, MARCH 29TH
THE PLAZA CLUB
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 8:00 PM SHOW 9:15 PM

The wait is over. Priestess is here to save rock 'n' roll. The hard rock
Montreal quartet has everyone buzzing. Their appearances at Pop Montreal and
CMJ, as well as a tour opening for Motorhead, have stirred up the pot
considerably, but it's the group's debut Hello Master that leaves no doubt
that Priestess is the real deal. Named disc of the week recently in the
Montreal Mirror, who called it "a wallop of a debut" and awarded it an 8.5
out of 10, the disc is aggressive and heavy, but always tuneful and melodic.
It's a sound that recalls '70s pioneers Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, as
well as latter-day practition-ers like Masters of Reality, Monster Magnet and
Queens of the Stone Age. So if it's good old fashioned meat-and-potatoes hard
rock, free of angst and irony but full of cowbell, guitar solos and a
Danzig-like howl (courtesy frontman Mikey Heppner), that you've been waiting
for, look no further - Priestess is here.

Don't miss Priestess with special guests on March 29th at The Plaza Club.

TAKING BACK SUNDAY
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS UNDEROATH & ARMOR FOR SLEEP

SUNDAY, MARCH 18TH
P.N.E. FORUM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 6:00 pm SHOW 7:00 pm

***GENERAL ADMISSION***

Taking Back Sunday's third album is a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners
affair. After releasing their Billboard-chart-topping second album Where You
Want to Be, the five-piece hit the road in a big way, playing many shows
(headlining and with Jimmy Eat World, as well as the Vans Warped Tour and the
Leeds and Reading festivals) which lead to members forgetting their own home
addresses and phone numbers. The band went for a more-is-more approach on
Louder Now. Darker, faster, more furious, with more hooks and a deeper sense
of dislocation, Louder Now finds Taking Back Sunday experimenting in the
studio (on the stunning, Cure-influenced "Miami") as well as capturing the
mercurial energy of the Taking Back Sunday live show.

Since debuting with 2002's Tell All Your Friends, Taking Back Sunday has sold
over 1.4 million copies of their first two records, and established itself as
one of the hardest-working live acts in the business. With yowling vocals and
slashing guitars, this powerful, melodic hardcore band has received raves
from Spin, Entertainment Weekly and Alternative Press and won the adulation
of millions of listeners.

"Pull yourself together, man," howls Underoath lead singer Spencer
Chamberlain on the Florida band's fifth magnum opus. Filled with the
questioning rage the group's fans have come to know and love, Define the
Great Line is a career-best summation of the metal, hardcore and screamo
formula that has made the eight-year-old six-piece one of the most successful
rock 'n' roll acts of its time. The disc follows the band's 2004 breakthrough
They're Only Chasing Safety, a record that sold over 350,000 copies
worldwide. This past year, Underoath toured Western Canada and sold out every
show on the tour and are considered one of the best live acts in the hardcore
genre.

Check out Taking Back Sunday with guests Underoath and Armor For Sleep at
P.N.E Forum on Sunday, March 18th.

SPARTA & MONEEN
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS ATTACK IN BLACK

FRIDAY, MARCH 30TH
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:00 pm

***GENERAL ADMISSION***

When Texas emo gods At the Drive-In split, two members formed The Mars Volta
and the remaining three put together Sparta. Fans worried the offshoots would
never make music approaching that of the original band. But with its 2002
debut Wiretap Scars, Sparta proved such fears unfounded. With a ferocious,
precise rock sound, the group proved itself equal to the task of living up to
At the Drive-In's legacy. On its 2004 follow-up Porcelain, Sparta more than
matched its debut, and delivered an album of tightly controlled post-hardcore
recalling the reckless beauty of their former band. Threes, the El Paso
group's third disc, unleashes even more simmering adrenaline, ambitious
arrangements, and biting melodies, while last year's tour in support of the
album galvanized fans and newbies alike.

Moneen's aggressive, melodic pop comes wrapped up in songwriting
sophistication and technical prowess. After forming from the ashes of the
band Perfectly Normal in 1999 in Brampton, Moneen debuted with an EP and
2001's critically acclaimed full-length, The Theory Of Harmonial Value. By
2002, Moneen had caught the attention of one of today's most influential and
respected independent record companies, Vagrant (home to Dashboard
Confessional, Rocket From The Crypt, Saves the Day, Paul Westerberg). The
latest Moneen disc, The Red Tree, which follows the group's breakout Are We
Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now? is a mature, diverse effort with
songs epic in scope.

Don't miss Sparta and Moneen with special guests Attack In Black on Friday,
March 30th at The Commodore Ballroom.

THE LONG WINTERS
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

TUESDAY, MARCH 13TH
RICHARD'S ON RICHARDS
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:00 pm

***GENERAL ADMISSION***

The original lineup of The Long Winters included Death Cab for Cutie's Chris
Walla and Harvey Danger's Sean Nelson. But the Seattle band has always been a
showcase for John Roderick's painfully beautiful and catchy songs. Under the
The Long Winters moniker, and with a various lineups, Roderick has recorded
three full-length albums and the EP Ultimatum for the respected
Portland-based label Barsuk. The band has opened on tours with such
superstars of indie-rock as the Pernice Brothers and the Decemberists, as
well as the Britpop act Keane. The latest The Long Winters disc, Putting the
Days to Bed, combines the lyrical intimacy and melodic complexity of
Ultimatum with the guitar rave-ups of the earlier records, The Worst You Can
Do is Harm and When I Pretend to Fall. Rolling Stone chose the song
"Pushover" as one of the best of 2006, saying, "Guitar troubadour surrenders
to his girlfriend with two and a half minutes of rootsy sweetness, and you
can't help but surrender too." Last year, The Long Winters contributed a
cover of "Pet Name" for the Bar/None They Might Be Giants tribute album Hello
Radio. And DorsiaFilms is currently in production on Through With Love, a
documentary about the group, and the ups and downs of its talented frontman.

Check out The Long Winters with special guests at Richard's on Richards on

ELECTRIC SIX
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS TEST YOUR REFLEX & NIGHT KILLS THE DAY

MONDAY, APRIL 23
RICHARD'S ON RICHARDS
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:00 pm

***GENERAL ADMISSION***

With the release of its hit "Danger! (High Voltage)", Electric Six became
international sensations and Detroit's unofficial ambassadors of feel-good
party rock. The UK was especially quick to embrace vocalist Dick Valentine
and crew, and pushed the anthemic disco rock track, along with its follow-up
single "Gay Bar" off the 2003 album Fire, into the charts. Senor Smoke, the
band's sophomore album, was anchored by a cover of the Queen song "Radio
Ga-Ga" and further spread the fun-loving Electric Six gospel. On third record
Switzerland, the band recklessly put its stamp on genres such as peppy pop on
"I Buy the Drugs", power metal on "Night Vision", and blue-eyed soul on
"Infected Girls" for a party album to end all party albums.

Test Your Reflex is a young Southern California quintet with an appreciation
for classic albums as diverse as U2's The Joshua Tree and Joni Mitchell's
Blue. The Burning Hour, the group's debut, is a pure distillation of Test
Your Reflex's frenetic energy and raw yet tuneful sensibilities into eleven
tracks that are as diverse and unpretentious as they are catchy. From the
dreamy opener "I'm Not Sorry" to the anthemic "I Am Alive", and the
impossibly infectious first single "Pieces of the Sun", The Burning Hour is a
sublime synthesis of the accessible with the unexpected. All eleven tracks
cleverly showcase the depth of this record on which every song will be
someone's favorite.

New York band Night Kills the Day combines an '80s sound (think the Cure and
Depeche Mode) with the passion and energy of contemporary rock. The group's
album The Study of Man is a tour-de-force of machine-like beats, piercing but
simple guitar lines, and neon-lit vocals. As vocalist Luke sings in "Rainbows
in NYC", "All the raindrops look like rainbows in my eyes."

Don't miss Electric Six with Test Your Reflex and Nights Kills The Day on
April 23rd at Richard's on Richards.
