JETS OVERHEAD & GOLDEN DOGS
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 24TH
THE PLAZA CLUB
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:30 pm
***GENERAL ADMISSION***
Formed in Victoria in 2003, Jets Overhead has quickly become one of Canada's
most talked-about bands. Neil Osborne of Canuck legends 54-40 produced
Bridges, the co-ed quintet's mesmerizing, guitar-heavy, and melodic debut
full-length. After reaching a top 10 position on Canada's national campus
radio charts, the disc became a staple on emerging alternative outlets such
as XM satellite radio as well. Jets Overhead has shared stages with The
Stills, Dandy Warhols, Stars, Tegan and Sara, and Powderfinger, as well as
toured Germany and the U.K. In 2006, the band opened for Our Lady Peace on a
cross-country tour, played EdgeFest, and had its song "Get it Right" featured
on the Help: A Day in the Life War Child benefit album, along with tracks by
the Dears and Radiohead. Following a new Canadian tour, Jets Overhead plays
South by Southwest this year in Austin.
Saturday night at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern during North by Northeast-a
prime gig, when only the best are allowed to play. Enter Golden Dogs, a
Toronto five-piece. When the band hits the stage the crowd, many of whom have
been waiting hours, goes wild, thus proving the group's ability to connect
with a group of jaded scenesters. On its 2006 album Big Eye Little Eye,
Golden Dogs take that live vigour and lay it down on frantic tracks like
"Dynamo", "Saints at the Gate", and the first single "Never Meant Any Harm."
After opening for bands like the Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, and the
Libertines, Golden Dogs are bringing their energetic, adrenaline-charged,
infectious songs to the world.

**GENERAL ADMISSION**
After thirteen incredibly successful shows at the Commodore Ballroom, The
White returns to perform Led Zeppelin III and Houses of the Holy in their
entirety plus all the most popular Led Zeppelin hits.
Over the past few years, a number of bands have been touring the U.S. and
Canada under the banner of "A Tribute to Led Zeppelin." But the best
impersonators of them all are The White, led by vocalist Michael White.
Originally from Los Angeles, but now based out of Toronto, they have been
performing their version of Zeppelin-mania since 1979. They were the first
band ever to call themselves a 'tribute', and have performed over 4000 shows
to over 3 million fans around the world.
In case there are still any skeptics out there, even guitar master Jimmy Page
claims "Michael White & The White do it best".
Check out the Led Zeppelin tribute band that continues to capture the
imaginations of those lucky enough to see them last time. Close your eyes and
open your ears, and you'll swear that you are at a real Led Zeppelin concert.

West Coast. What more could you want from a Spring Fling?

incredible vocals and contagious melodies has impressed audiences around the

KAISER CHIEFS
WITH VERY SPECIAL GUESTS THE WALKMEN
AND THE LITTLE ONES
TUESDAY, APRIL 24TH
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:00 pm
Kaiser Chiefs were one of the musical success stories of 2005. In a time
where the British press was championing a different skinny boy guitar band,
seemingly by the hour, Kaiser Chiefs swiftly and effortlessly breezed into
first place. Chiefs were wholeheartedly welcomed by the North American media,
who latched on to the feisty fun of debut single "I Predict A Riot" and
reveled in the band's energetic live shows. Kaiser Chiefs made a lively
entrance into North America, to daytime and late night talk shows. By the
time the boys returned to Britain things had spiraled into bone fide Kaiser
Mania and they found themselves the uncontested Band Of The Year.
Fast forward to 2007 already their new single "Ruby," has charted in the
UK Top 10 Airplay after only 3 days of play and a new UK tour sold out in a
mighty 3 minutes. Yours Truly, Angry Mob wields its musical might from the
start in the shape of "Ruby" - an infectious single to rival anything the
band have done before. "Angry Mob", a favourite from the band's European
festival appearances last year is destined to be a universal fan favourite.
Yours Truly, Angry Mob, as one band member has been heard to utter, "is an
album full of big choruses and even bigger guitars". Maybe so. It is also the
work of a band hitting their creative stride.
Praised as one the hardest working live bands going are New York via
Washington DC's The Walkmen. After breaking out in 2002 with the dynamic
single "The Rat", The Walkmen made not one but 2 critically acclaimed records
in 2006. The first a Hundred Miles Off branched out into a new direction
with the addition of a horn and string sections and the second was a song for
song recreation of the legendary Nilsson/Lennon "lost weekend" record
Pussycats.

BLUE OCTOBER
FRIDAY APRIL 6TH
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 PM SHOW 9:30 PM
"Hate Me" is the kind of epic hit most bands dream about. With that one
song, Blue October has become a household name across North America. The
tune's ability to crossover with audiences is just part of its appeal, as
Blue October singer Justin Furstenfeld's emotive vocals resound with the
universality of the song's themes of self-deception and failure. Yet that's
just one track from this Houston, Texas band, which released its first album,
The Answers, in 1998. Its Universal debut, Consent to Treatment, followed in
2000, but it wasn't until radio stations picked up on the single "Calling
You" (also featured on the American Wedding soundtrack), off the band's 2003
independent release History for Sale, that things really began to take off
for Blue October.
Now, with the success of Foiled and its gargantuan single "Hate Me", Blue
October is one of the hottest modern rock draws in the world. With plenty of
material to draw from, including the blistering tracks that make up its
latest disc, Blue October puts on the kind of thrilling rock show that
radiates strength and confidence.

BLONDE REDHEAD
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
FRIDAY APRIL 20TH
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:30 pm
When it comes to hip cache, Blonde Redhead is second to none. The art-noise
trio comprised of Kazu Makino and the brothers Pace (Simone and Amadeo) has
been on the cutting edge of the New York art-rock scene since its first,
mid-’90s releases.
The group’s breakthrough came in 2000 with Melody of Uncertain Lemons, a disc
that found a balance between Blonde Redhead’s discordant guitar noise and its
softer, more melodic side. The record went on to sell over 50,000 copies, and
pushed the band to the forefront of the indie-rock scene. Its audience
continued to grow, mostly through word-of-mouth, and by the 2003 disc Misery
is a Butterfly, Blonde Redhead’s voice had become stronger, clearer, and more
distinctive. Along with its records, the band’s cathartic live
performances-with the almost psychic interplay between the three
members--have given the unit a reputation as one of the most intense acts in
rock, though its offbeat, boundary-pushing music has also gained the
attention of jazz festival organizers and audiences. Along with a tour, a new
album is expected in early 2007.

COMMODORE BALLROOM

**GENERAL ADMISSION**
It started off as a joke and has become one of the hottest tickets in
Hollywood. As lead singer Dan Finnerty says, "The band's origin is a tale of
beer and karaoke tragically combining."
A cover-song fest featuring Dan and his band of reengage rockers taking on
what they call "girl songs," the Dan Band sends up such ditties as Christine
Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle", Irene Cara's "Fame", and Wilson Phillips'
"Hold On." The group's irreverence is revered at places like West Hollywood's
Largo nightclub, where star-studded audiences thrill to the act's
self-proclaimed "bad" choreography, and the Knitting Factory. The Dan Band
has also expanded its following outside of the L.A. area, taking its all-boy
dancing revue and girl-pop-gone-testosterone hit machine up and down the West
Coast and across the U.S. The band's subversive pop has also been beamed into
millions of living rooms through appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late
Late Show, and Last Call with Carson Daley, as well as cameos in hit movies
Old School (that was The Dan Band performing a profanity-laced version of
"Total Eclipse of the Heart" at a wedding) and Starsky and Hutch. Don't miss

The greatest band in the history of the planet, and possibly the Universe,
Tenacious D came together when Jack Black and Kyle Gass began playing
together in Kyle's studio apartment. No one could have dreamed where their
genius would take them, but 12 years later the D rules supreme. Stars of
stage, television, print, CD, DVD, and Xbox, the duo's output has resulted in
some of the most lasting contributions to the rock canon ever conceived. With
last year's The Pick of Destiny, the band finally made the transition to the
place many adherents felt they were, in fact, destined for--the big screen.
Now, following the release of the hugely successful Tenacious D cinematic
epic, Jack Black and Kyle Gass are taking their newly minted movie star
status on the road. Though mere mortals might balk at the idea of two such
pre-eminent rock gods descending from the mountains to entertain us, the D
have always been generous with their talents. We are lucky to have them, and
to be able to witness this two-man rock explosion in our lifetimes.

BADLY DRAWN BOY
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
TUESDAY, MARCH 27th
RICHARD'S ON RICHARDS
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 PM SHOW 9:15PM
**GENERAL ADMISSION**
Since the release of his Mercury Prize-winning debut Hour of the
Bewilderbeast in 2000, Damon Gough-a.k.a. Badly Drawn Boy-has been one of the
most acclaimed singer-songwriters and performers in the U.K. Through a
succession of acclaimed albums and shows that brought out the raging rocker
within (Gough is admittedly a huge Bruce Springsteen fan), Badly Drawn Boy
has been responsible for some of the catchiest pop tunes, as well as some of
the most forlorn ballads and outright rockers, of the last six years.
The latest Badly Drawn Boy album, Born in the UK-note the salute to the
Boss's Born in the U.S.A.-finds the Mancunian songsmith in a mood to make a
Big Statement, and he does so, gloriously, on the title track, an epic,
magisterial rocker that sums up the last few decades of life in his homeland.
Elsewhere, Gough delivers superlative pop in "Degrees of Separation" and
ballads both romantic ("Walk You Home Tonight") and rueful ("Nothing's Going
to Change Your Mind"). Born in the UK is another exciting,
anything-can-happen chapter in a career that includes such milestones as the
soundtrack to About a Boy, as well as the discs Have You Fed the Fish?
Considering Badly Drawn Boy barely toured or promoted its last album, 2004's
more personal One Plus One is One, anticipation for a new BDB North American
tour is high.

Matt Wertz has learned a lot about himself in the last two years, and he's
not afraid to share this knowledge on his new album Everything in Between.
The songs are vivid snapshots from every landmark along his two-year journey
through love, questions, pain, and healing, and add up to Matt's most
eclectic and energetic set yet.
With his smooth grooves and understated arrangements, Matt easily fits in
with a new breed of singer-songwriter that includes Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson,
Daniel Powter, and John Mayer (whom he admits is an influence). A
Missouri-born soulful rocker, Matt Wertz has divided his home between
Nashville and hundreds of stages for the last six years. Everything in
Between follows his 2001 debut Somedays, its 2003 follow-up Twenty Three
Places and the 2005 EP Today & Tomorrow. The 27-year-old staunchly
independent ("I love being independent," he says) artist has toured with such
acts as Jamie Cullum, Gavin Degraw, and Jars of Clay. For his latest
headlining tour, Matt is accompanied by a full band, adding even more groove
and muscle to the accomplished performer and his songs.

Ten Second Epic's 2004 independent album One More for the Road must have
impressed all the right people. After selling nearly 4,000 units, playing
every single date of the Canadian leg of the 2005 Warped Tour, selling out
1800 capacity venues, and being voted "Best Band In Edmonton" by SEE
Magazine, Ten Second Epic were more than ready to head back to the studio.
For the group's follow-up, the Edmonton quintet signed with Blackbox
Universal and enlisted the aid of a producer whose name is synonymous with
heavy music, Garth Richardson. The result Count Yourself In, an astounding
explosion of rock that will delight fans of Alexisonfire and Billy Talent.
Recorded in Gibsons, B.C., the disc features pummeling rhythms, brutal
vocals, and razor-sharp guitars. Already receiving airtime on MuchMusic, the
first single "Suck it Up Princess" demonstrates why Ten Second Epic is one of
the most exciting young bands to come out of Canada in ages. Be among the
first to see the group as it tours across the country in support of Count
Yourself In.
Ten Second Epic want to give their fans something different with Count
Yourself In to add to their musical repertoire but not too different, just
different enough to make it interesting enough to check out again and again,"
We hope people who listen to this record will want to go back and notice the
subtleties because the music makes them curious enough to do so. We want to
leave question marks... and answers".
