This was right after her sold out shows at Town Hall, which no I
didn't get to see.

FICTION PLANE
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
SATURDAY, MAY 26TH
THE PLAZA CLUB
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 7:00 PM SHOW 7:30 PM
**GENERAL ADMISSION**
Fiction Plane is a three-piece pop-rock group from Bath, England, fronted by
Joe Sumner, the son of singer-songwriter Sting. MCA released the band's debut
Everything Will Never Be Okay in the U.K. in 2002 and in the U.S. the
following year, along with the single "Hate". Of the band's latest, the
guitar-oriented Left Side of the Brain, Sumner says the band tried "to make
this epic album into an epic journey of epic proportions". The new material
will be appropriate for Fiction Plane's upcoming tour, which includes opening
for the Police in stadiums across North America as well as a few select club
dates.
Tracks on Left Side of the Brain include the arena-ready "Anyone" and the
single "Two Sisters". Described as having a furious energy live, with a
fervour that is channeled into intense melody and razor-sharp, cynical
lyrics, Fiction Plane cites Nirvana and Pavement as influences.
Don't miss Fiction Plane with special guests on Saturday, May 26th at The
Plaza Club.

AN EVENING WITH
LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM
FLEETWOOD MAC'S LEGENDARY SONGWRITER AND GUITARIST
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20TH
COMMODORE BALLROOM
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:15 pm
Lindsey Buckingham returns to Vancouver after his electrifying performance
last November at The Centre. The set list that night included the Fleetwood
Mac classics Never Going Back Again, Second Hand News, Red Rover, Big Love,
Go Your Own Way, Tusk and many more.
If Lindsey Buckingham had only been a member of Fleetwood Mac for the
multi-platinum smashes Fleetwood Mac and Rumours, that would have been enough
to ensure his place in the history of American pop. But Buckingham is more
than simply one of the musicians behind some of the most successful pop
albums of all time. A talented songwriter and vocalist, accomplished
producer, gifted arranger and virtuoso guitarist, Lindsey is an artist with a
vision. It was Buckingham, for instance, who was instrumental to Tusk, the
follow-up to Rumours, an album that did not live up to sales expectations at
the time but is now regarded as an artistic triumph.
Lindsey's talents have informed not only one of the strongest musical
catalogues in rock history, but have gone into a series of wildly eclectic
and critically acclaimed solo records, including Law and Order, Go Insane,
and Out of the Cradle. His return to the Mac fold included the 2003 smash
album Say You Will, and the single "Peacekeeper." Under the Skin, his first
solo album since 1992's Out of the Cradle, is an acoustic record highlighting
new compositions from one of the best pop songwriters of the last thirty
years. An accompanying tour promises to highlight the truly awesome
contribution Lindsey Buckingham has made to the music in our heads.
Don't miss Lindsey Buckingham live in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom on
Wednesday, June 20th.

THE MEDIA CLUB
VANCOUVER, BC
DOORS: 9:30 PM SHOW 10:30 PM
**GENERAL ADMISSION**
Drawing on influences such as old-time jazz standards, folk balladry and
traditional country, Halifax's Jill Barber has become one of Canada's most
distinctive voices.
She first gained national critical acclaim with the 2004 release of her
CBC-produced EP, Oh Heart. Receiving four-star reviews in Eye, Now and Chart
Magazine, the release also prompted The National Post to hail the
singer-songwriter as "Canada's best cabaret singer." This momentum continued
in 2005 with Oh Heart earning her Female Artist-Recording of the Year at the
Music Nova Scotia Awards and garnered a nomination at the inaugural Canadian
Folk Music Awards. Now on the heels of the critically acclaimed EP, Oh Heart,
is her new album For All Time. With Eleven new tracks that strike a balance
between classic and contemporary songwriting styles, For All Time
demonstrates Jill's keen melodic sense and compelling lyrical abilities. The
album's sensual timelessness instantly draws the listener in, as its subdued
and rich tones showcase her warm and unique vocals.
"...delightfully distinctive, bravely unclassifiable, sexy and vulnerable." -
Toronto Star
