RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS LAUNCH CONTEST ASKING FANS TO CREATE VIDEO FOR"CHARLIE" WINNER TO RECEIVE $5,000 AND A TRIP TO MEET THE BAND IN PARIS The Red Hot Chili Peppers have launched a contest on video-sharing websiteYouTube that gives fans the opportunity to create the official video for"Charlie," a song from its multiple-Grammy winning, double-platinum albumStadium Arcadium. The winner of the contest will receive $5,000 and a tripto meet the Red Hot Chili Peppers and see them perform live in Paris, Franceon July 6th.After being inspired by seeing so many creative videos for their songs onsites like YouTube, Red Hot Chili Peppers are now reaching out to their fansand budding directors to create a video for "Charlie." The band's leadsinger Anthony Kiedis explains "videos are harder than they look. It's veryvery rare and beautiful and monumental when someone makes a truly goodvideo...this is an opportunity to have that happen for this song."The winning video will be the "official" video for the song.
