Well this is sure interesting. Rick Moranis. Yeah, THAT Rick Moranis. And he made a country CD. But not just any country CD. No no, this one is a plodding old lazy western album, all banjos, fiddles, twilly guitars, and Moranis' comically dopey voice over it. And the songs? Oh my - the lyrics are absurd. It's wonderful. Words about 10-gallon hats, his domestic prowess, and technology keeping him from going outside, not to mention an awesome little ditty called "Press Pound" where poor lovelorn Moranis answering-systems his way to figuring out how things went awry. Press 5 if you're screaming, press 6 if you're dead. This is a hilarious album, but in an understated way. Moranis' classic comic genius is poured over this one. No slapstick a la Weird Al Yankovich or bombastic theatrics a la Tenacious D - just a pile of sweet little country songs that could have fallen off a George Jones record, with words that will make you giggle if you bother to pay attention. Fantastic.
Song of choice :
Gotta pick "Press Pound" for the wicked lyrics. haha.
