Oh Leeroy. That shredded, scratchy, drawly voice. Deliciously country-infused
without being too trendy/indie/silly. It's honest and it's sad, and it makes you
feel like music is one of few joys in the world. You know, he's right. "Depression
River" has a sexy outlaw vibe. Rip-roarin' guitars tear through the song's outro,
only to drop you in the lap of a light piano. While I'm not a huge fan of the third
track, the sad sorrowful "Payback" charms me right back again. The middle bits of
the album isn't terribly varied, but I think that's just the nature of the genre.
The words are still open, honest and bare. "Tired Of Being High" is a cool whirlwind
of a song, like Trainspotting Lite.
Song of choice :
Love the low and dismal flow of "Satellite."
