I suppose this is ska kinda. It's a bit jivey, there's horns. The vocals are lowwwwww and it reeks of sauciness. It's pretty smutty stuff, which is fun. This is actually sort of neat. I wasn't sure at first if I'd be into it. It's not ideal for all applications, mind you. I couldn't just toss this on any time and be into it. But for a house party, it'd be great. For a movie soundtrack about drug hustlers or mobsters or something it'd be so awesome. Or like, the Leo-and-Claire Romeo + Juliet soundtrack. This is really a party. The horns make it different. Now I'm thinking of bullfights. It's all about screwing and dancing and seduction. The lyrics are glossy and showy. You can feel the Spaniard in "Tonight", with the bolero guitar action. R. Kelly (wait a sec...) Clipperton has a dreadfully low voice... not exactly what you'd expect out of him. It's sexy and growling. There's a grumbling explosion on "Desperado". "Desperado" rules. and no, it's not that "Desperado." I need this like oxygen / I believe this like Elvis is breathing. The horns... man, it's so fun but so incredibly sleazy. Like the guy's singing in a silk bathrobe with nothing on underneath, maybe a cigar... a greasy moustache, a snifter of brandy. "I'm Not Driving" is a car chase scene if I've ever heard/seen one. It just has so much energy. And whaddya know, it's about driving. Skibbidy ska. Frantic. The bluesy yelping opening to "I Love You Like A Ball And Chain" is very neat... and then... rumble rumble.... bass scooping... and back into the raging fun ... I imagine guys in suits and bowling hats walking down a hall, flipping coins and snapping fingers. Wow this is a cool track. It has a kinda less-country, but Johnny Cash-style cool. This is so on speed. Saucy bass and clapping continues on "Muscle." Wow, so sleazy, I just can't get over it. Can you tell?? "It's Been Hours Now" is oddly touching, especially alongside everything else. We then are treated at the end to three remixes... They are very club-night, with techno beats and weird effects. The second remix (of "I'm Not Driving") is cool, kind of like a video game, and with piano. The last one ("Noise") is deadly evil. There's lightning, and a low satan voice hahah. Wow. The techno beat strikes again, but man, what weird voices, and so creepy.

Song of choice : It's a toss up between "Desperado" and "I Love You Like A Ball And Chain" but "Carbonated Liplock" takes top honours for sheer title magic.
